don't do it - just say no to real estate!

I must be crazy to say this!

You’ve probably seen the social media posts: a shiny car, someone in their 30s holding keys to a dream home they just sold, hashtags like #MillionDollarListing and #TopProducer. It looks good, doesn’t it?

But here’s the truth: 70–80% of people who get their real estate license quit within 2 years.

That’s not a typo. It’s a reality check.

So before you jump into real estate thinking it’s a fast track to freedom and fortune, let’s ask the hard questions.

Is Real Estate Really for You?

According to Kevin Ward, founder of YesMasters and a top real estate success trainer, most people should NOT become real estate agents. Why? Because they’re not prepared for what it actually takes to succeed.

Here are 5 reasons you should not get into real estate:

  1. You’re Lazy.
This isn’t HGTV. Real estate isn’t about liking houses. If you’re allergic to hard work and expect easy money, this business will chew you up and spit you out.

  2. You’re Impatient.
Real estate doesn’t pay weekly. It’s normal to go months without a paycheck when you start. If that scares you, this might not be your lane.

  3. You’re a DIY’er Who Won’t Take Coaching.
If you think you can figure it out alone because you’re “good with people” or “have a background in sales,” think again. This industry will humble you fast unless you’re coachable.

  4. You’re a Quitter.
Trying it out to “see if it works”? That mindset guarantees failure. You either go all in, or don’t go in at all.

  5. You Need a Boss to Motivate You.
If you need someone watching over your shoulder to keep you moving, this isn’t for you. Agents are business owners, not employees. If you need motivation, you don’t need a business—you need a job.

So… Why on Earth Would Anyone Choose Real Estate?

Because for the right person, this is the best career in the world.

If you are:

  • Hungry
  • Hardworking
  • Mentally tough
  • Patient
  • Coachable
  • Self-driven

…real estate is a path to true freedom.

I’ve seen brand new agents make $200K, $300K—even $400K—in their first year. Not because they got lucky. But because they showed up every day ready to learn, grow, and grind.

Right now, with all the uncertainty in the economy and housing market, most people are afraid. But that chaos? **It’s also opportunity—**for those who are bold enough to act.

Is That You?

You don’t need to be fearless. You just need to be brave enough to start.

If you’ve been wondering whether real estate is the right path, ask yourself:

  • Am I ready to take ownership of my future?
  • Can I handle delayed gratification?
  • Am I willing to learn from someone who’s already done it?
  • Do I want to build a life of freedom, challenge, and unlimited income?

If your answer is YES… then let’s talk.
