What are the hard costs of getting licensed?

The Total Hard Cost of Getting Licensed is $6700

That amount is spread out over about six months, depending on how fast you complete the course. 

Summary of the Costs

  • Financing available with qualification


  • Real Estate Trading Services Course - $1450 (Paid on Registration) 
  • Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) exam - $294 (Possible Exemptions) 
  • Calculator - $60 (you can usually find one to borrow) 
  • Exam - $200 
  • Applied Practice Course - $975 
  • License fee with the BCFSA - $1630 (Paid after passing)


  BOARD STARTUP FEES  (This fee varies from board to board):

  Association of Interior Realtors® 

  $2000 (One time only, including AIR, BCREA, CREA) 


  Greater Vancouver Realtors®

  $1260 (One time only, including GVR, BCREA, CREA)


  Fraser Valley Real Estate Board

  $1295 (One time only, including FVREB, BCREA, CREA)
